Bubble Blitz tournament 12th October 2015

Many congratulations to Kevin Hurst (pic attached) who triumphed in our inaugural ECC Bubble Blitz tournament last night, scoring an unbeaten 8/9 with a characteristically fizzy display of attacking chess.

The Chess Doctor at the DJCA Riviera Tournament 2015

We had lots of wonderful volunteers at the Riviera, which left me free
to be a roving coach. Come and see the Chess Doctor, I said, and he
will find our what's wrong with your chess, and suggest some treatments.

I usually have about my person some positions to amuse young players at the end of an evening.

Here are some of my favourites:

White to play and...

1. Mate in half a move (?)

2. Mate in 6 (Halumbirek)

3. Mate in 2 (?)
